Equipment Sales Policy

All used equipment sold by Salt Lake Small Engine Services is sold AS IS, in the condition described or displayed at the time of sale.

No Refunds, Returns, or Exchanges

All sales are final. Salt Lake Small Engine Services does not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any equipment under any circumstances. By completing a purchase, the buyer acknowledges they have had the opportunity to inspect the equipment and accepts it in its current condition.

No Implied Warranties

No warranties, guarantees, or representations are made beyond what is specifically stated in writing at the time of sale. Salt Lake Small Engine Services makes no implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The buyer assumes all risk and responsibility for the equipment upon completion of the sale.

Pre-Purchase Inspection

Buyers are strongly encouraged to inspect all equipment prior to purchase. We are happy to demonstrate equipment operation during scheduled appointments. Questions about condition, history, or function should be asked before completing a purchase — not after.

14-Day Goodwill Labor Warranty

Salt Lake Small Engine Services may provide a 14-day goodwill labor warranty. This warranty covers labor only. The customer is responsible for covering the cost of any required parts. This warranty does not cover misuse, neglect, damage caused after purchase, or issues unrelated to the original repair or service performed. This warranty is void if the equipment has been serviced, modified, or tampered with by anyone other than Salt Lake Small Engine Services after the time of sale.

Repair & Service Policy

  • Diagnostic Fee. All equipment brought in for repair or evaluation is subject to an $80 diagnostic fee. This fee applies regardless of whether the customer approves the repair or whether the repair is completed. The diagnostic fee covers the time and labor required to inspect, test, and evaluate the equipment. If the customer decides to move forward with the repair, the $80 diagnostic fee is applied towards the repair cost.
  • Estimates. Written or verbal estimates are based on visible conditions at the time of inspection. Estimates are not guaranteed final prices. If additional issues are discovered during the repair process, the customer will be notified before additional work proceeds. Salt Lake Small Engine Services reserves the right to revise estimates based on actual conditions found upon further inspection.
  • Repair Approval. No repair work will begin without customer approval of the estimate. Approval may be given in person, by phone, or by text message. By approving an estimate, the customer agrees to pay the full cost of the approved repair upon completion.
  • Payment Before Release. All repair and service charges must be paid in full before equipment is released. Salt Lake Small Engine Services does not release equipment prior to payment under any circumstances.
  • Unclaimed Equipment. Customers will be notified when their equipment is ready for pickup. Equipment that remains unclaimed for more than 30 days after the customer has been notified may be considered abandoned. Abandoned equipment may be subject to daily storage fees, disposal, disassembly for parts, or resale in accordance with applicable Utah state laws. Salt Lake Small Engine Services is not liable for any loss or damage to abandoned equipment.
  • Liability Limitation. Salt Lake Small Engine Services is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions, secondary damage, or consequential losses related to equipment brought in for repair. Our liability is limited to the cost of the specific repair or service performed.

Trade-In Policy

Trade-in values are estimates only and are not guaranteed until equipment has been physically inspected in person. Final trade-in offers may differ from initial estimates based on actual condition upon inspection. Salt Lake Small Engine Services reserves the right to refuse any trade-in at its sole discretion.
